In my role at KPMG Canada, I lead audit, review, compilation and securities engagements for a portfolio of public and private clients in the Calgary marketplace in sectors which include Healthcare, Energy Services, Agriculture, Retail and Technology. My specialties include a broad knowledge of ASPE and IFRS financial reporting matters, financial statement audits, SEC rules and regulations, as well as internal controls and management reporting systems.I am the lead of the Calgary Private Enterprise Audit Quality group which puts me at the forefront of new developments in the auditing standards and audit quality area. I collaborate internally to develop programs geared at enhancing the efficiency and quality of our audits. I am known for my adaptability, hands on, client focused style and ability to deliver high quality audits. I build strong professional relationships and pride myself in my high-touch, collaborative style in working with internal and external teams to ensure a practical solution is identified and pursued.My passion has always been people – I have been a People Leader, Performance Manager and Coach since I first became a manager at KPMG and am consistently “oversubscribed” every year to coach and mentor our experienced senior and manager group. I focus on my mentees’ success both as an effective member of an audit team and on a personal level, advocating for equality and for what is right by challenging biases and providing a balanced world view.As a mother of two young children, I have a deep appreciation of the importance and challenges around work life balance and dedicate my time out of the office first and foremost to my family, kayaking, golfing, hiking, rock climbing the Canadian Rockies and spending quality time on my motorbike.
