About Natasha C.
As an Engagement Coordinator at Kingston City Council, I am passionate about creating meaningful consultations and conversations with the community. I have 10 years of experience working in local government and have formally worked in media and communications roles since 2006; which commenced with a role as a Journalist with Prime News. (Prior to that I studied and put my hand up for voluntary positions in the media). Over the course of my career I have worked in various government and arts sectors, where I developed skills in sourcing newsworthy stories, managing relationships with the media, copy editing, writing, and community engagement.In my current role, I have overseen a two year term with Kingston’s Representative Community Panel. This role has also involved me improving the consultation reporting process, finding unique and relevant ways to promote engagement opportunities, and tapping into more local networks. I also work closely with internal and external stakeholders, writing copy and teeing up photo opportunities for the City's magazine, media releases, enewsletters, speeches, and online platforms. I am capable of managing responses to crises and proactive campaigns, and I enjoy collaborating with my team and partners to achieve our goals.

Engagement Coordinator
CurrentThis was a new role for the organisation and one that I have been excited to spearhead. Kingston is very committed to undertaking meaningful consultations and this role complements this commitment, by: maintaining a high standard of reporting, ensuring the Your Kingston Your Say website is up to date, finding unique (and relevant) ways to promote engagement opportunities, maintaining strong relationships with participants in our Representative Community Panel and tapping into more local networks to hold conversations with. During my tenure I have also been proud to manage the communications for several internal Council departments, including Infrastructure and Kingston Arts.

CurrentPrior to maternity leave, I was the Council's Media Advisor: regularly liaising with the media to respond to queries and promote events/projects/policies.
