About Natasha Parman
I am an experienced and passionate physical therapist who has practiced in private and hospital-based clinics. I am currently an NIH-funded (T90) Postdoctoral Scholar Fellow at the University of Washington, learning the skills and gaining the experience I need to transition my career to that of a clinician-scientist. My research interests center around the management and prevention of chronic pain. My postdoc program is focused on integrative health, and I'm especially interested in integrating mind-body and behavioral health approaches within physical therapy and primary care. I also want to develop interventions that are accessible and implementable, not just ones that are effective. My two current mentors are Sean Rundell and Kushang Patel. I firmly believe in team science and I value effective scientific communication. Each research question I come up with is inspired by the patients I have seen and still see. I plan to consistently engage with people who have lived experiences of pain in my work. We can't do this important work without them.CV available upon request.

Postdoctoral Scholar Fellow
In this position, I am completing training in complementary and integrative health clinical research. As a part of my training, I am taking some classes at the University of Washington. I am also working on many research projects with various methodologies utilized.I am about to start my 3rd year of training. I have published one paper, one abstract, and presented one poster during my 2nd year. In this position, I worked as a physical therapist in an interdisciplinary pain clinic with patients who have a variety of high-impact persistent pain conditions. One of the clinic's services is the Structured Functional Restoration Program. This is an intensive outpatient program where patients attend clinic visits for 4 hours per day, 3 days per week, for one month. Patients work with physical therapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, physicians and/or physiatrists, and nurses. I presented at the Swedish Pain Composium.

In my pelvic health practice, I treated all ages and all genders, including pediatrics and colorectal conditions. I practiced at the Eastside Specialty Center. I presented at an Ambulatory Care Division Grand Rounds talk, as well as a regional nursing conference.
