I am working in Prof. Pavel Nagorny's lab. My major projects include:Currently developing a novel route to tronocarpine (key steps: 7-exo cyclization, Diels-Alder), with the core structure complete.Currently developing a novel route to prepare oleandrigenin by adding the C17 heterocycle directly to the D ring diosphenol ether.Collaborated to build a library of 23 AI designed C3 heterocyclic analogs of oleandrigenin aimed at prion targets. The #1 analog gave 50% reduction in a1-NKA (12 nM, T98G cells). (Collaborations are from Cyclica for computations and Prof. Schmitt-Ulms for assays.)Have scaled the synthesis of oleandrigenin, starting with 80 g.Independently developed a novel asymmetric catalytic approach for the reductive amination of oleandrigenin.

I taught Chem 419, which is a class for undergraduate students that emphasizes the art of writing organic chemistry mechanisms and introduces them to advanced topics and concepts in organic chemistry.

I worked in Prof. Corinna Schindler's lab on developing a catalytic one-pot protocol for azetine synthesis.

I worked in Prof. Babak Borhan's lab on optimizing the scale-up of the core structure in the total synthesis of napyradiomycin A1.
