While studying at Parsons and working/interning my way around the fashion industry in New York City I realised my real interest is in how clothing is made. Cue moving to India to join my family business in garment manufacturing: the Defiance Group. Experienced in sitting on both sides of the table in product development meetings, I have a unique perspective in connecting the dots between buyer and manufacturer; there is no greater (professional) joy than finding the sweet spot where a customer and our production team are both equally happy!Building upon our existing cut & sew manufacturing business, I’m excited to be leading our expansion into seamless knitwear manufacturing at a large scale. With a brilliant team and a limited number of players in India, we have a solid foundation to service customers across the world with high-quality, competitive products.A side note: I’m also very proud that in an industry famous for being bad for the environment, at Defiance, we have made every effort to reduce our carbon footprint and manufacture in an environmentally responsible way—we use solar energy, have in-house water recycling (both STP and ZLD), and use natural or recycled products wherever possible!
