I'm your broadcast meteorologist with all corners covered, specializing in microclimates, marine environments, and aviation. In addition to my 20+ years of TV broadcasting experience, my career expanded to the digital side of media covering a mega event in aerospace - Red Bull Stratos also known as 'The Space Jump'. Our digital team won the Streamy Award for Best Live Event 2012 and our production team won a Sports Emmy for Outstanding New Approaches Sports Event Coverage.As the embedded reporter/web editor for RedBullStratos.com I captured the stories behind the mission. Our digital team created a go-to information hub for followers and held the attention of a worldwide audience for nearly a year leading up to the live jump Oct. 14, 2012 and continues to be a successful platform. I have a bachelor's degree in Telecommunications from Pepperdine University and hold the AMS (American Meteorological Society) seal of approval via Mississippi State University. My most challenging accomplishment came with wings, earning a private pilot certificate and instrument rating thanks to a scholarship from The Ninety-Nines Amelia Earhart Memorial Scholarship Fund. My volunteer experience includes local atmospheric research and public information support for the National Weather Service in San Diego. I also dedicated several years scuba diving at Birch Aquarium and Scripps Institution of Oceanography supporting marine reserve interpretation and marine biology research. I have given weather presentations to local organizations such as EAA and FAAST and I continue to offer weather lessons to elementary schools.
