Accounting Manager
Current- Maintain the general ledger and control chart of accounts- Responsible for monthly and year-end closing, including preparation of journal entries and variance analyses- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations, verify accuracy of bank statements, maintain integrity of cash balances and assist in cash forecast projections- Work directly with Information Technology (IT) Manager on general ledger and subledgers, sales tracking and financial reporting issues- Supervise activities and deliverables for departmental staff who support accounts receivable, accounts payable, credit and cost accounting- Coordinate with the Financial Director to provide supporting documentation for the year-end financial audit by an independent, third-party auditor- Calculate and reconcile monthly sales commissions and vendor discounts- Prepare and submit various tax filings including Sales & Use taxes and quarterly state and federal taxes- Work directly, as needed, with IT, Procurement, Sales, Operations, Customer Service and Human Resources departments- Work with Financial Director to develop efficient workflow processes, mitigate risk and ensure financial controls- Multi-task and prioritize activities to follow through with deadlines- Assist with special projects as required
