In my current position, I lead a team that investigates tax contribution matters and that make administrative determinations by correctly applying state and federal laws while following federally mandated timeliness and accuracy criteria. Additionally, among other various supervisory duties I also: Organize and delegate daily assignments. Work with individuals to set and meet monthly and yearly professional goals. I detect and oversee SUTA Dumping Fraud Investigations to prevent and correct any misuse of the Employment Security Laws on a State and Federal level. Prepare legal documents and evidence for and represent the Division in hearings, both in person and on the phone, in defense of determinations made by Division deputies. Study new and revised Missouri Employment Security Law and Regulations, procedures, rules, court cases, and other policies to maintain an up to date working knowledge in order to not only correctly interpret determinations but to also update and train staff on changes and applications of laws.

Jefferson City

*Perform system testing of the state departments newly launched, internet based, interactive application by identifying, communicating, validating, and resolving issues that could hinder the application of the Employment Security’s laws and policies. *Thoroughly document all testing and test results to fully maximize the states return on investment.*Recommend changes, enhancements, and updates in the previous and new systems to better serve both internal and external customers.*Collaborate with Division leadership to asses needed training and development.*Coordinate and conduct live, virtual, and telephone conference training sessions for small groups and individuals based on organizational needs.*Implement and conduct ongoing learning opportunities for Division Management and Deputies across the agency.

I started with the Division in November 2011 as an Examiner handling basic employment tax matters. Within two months I was promoted to a Specialist I which handles various tax matters including some of which are listed above. After a year, as soon as I became eligible, I was promoted to a Specialist II which handles more complicated tax matters. During this time I was depended on by the Division for many different roles including a Reviewer, and a Special Reporting Investigator. Some of these duties included: Investigating and determining whether individuals are employees or independent contractors under Missouri law per state and Federal guidelines. Train new and promotional hires in all aspects of deputy duties which included reviewing and recording all determinations made by the new hire. Reviewing my peer’s determinations to assure federally mandated accuracy.

Missouri

At Mid America Wireless I was responsible for a variety of tasks including the scheduling and maintaining of 400+ appointments monthly for 7 technicians throughout the entire state of Missouri that included new service, upgrades, and service issues. I was responsible for the inventory of 12 stores throughout Missouri that included cell phones and accessories, satellite receivers and installation equipment, as well as basic office supplies such as paper, pens, paper towels, and the like. In addition to the ordering and receiving of inventory, I was also responsible for the shipping of inventory to offsite locations, reconciling and submitting invoices from a multitude of vendors, and systemizing warehouses to best utilize limited space. I provided technical support in person and over the phone for various services and equipment including satellites television and internet, as well as cell phones and service. I also created and maintained numerous work procedures and policies as well as created and maintained various filing systems and data bases that were used by the roughly 200 employees of the company.

Missouri

I worked as the Lead Teacher in the Infant and Toddler section where I cared for up to 8 children under the age of 2 at a time. In addition to their care, I had to follow state rules and training regulations that included carrying out daily activity lessons and following nutritional guidelines. I also kept a specialized instruction folder up to date for each infant, and created and distributed detailed reports for each child on their daily activities and progress.
