I was initially hired for temp work as an Administrative Assistant, supporting the company’s Operations and Finance Manager. However, due to my diligent nature, I was promoted to Customer Service Advisor. My role entailed personally managing a client portfolio which consisted of thousands of mis-sold PPI claims. It was my duty to correspond with clients; reputable banks and the Financial Ombudsmen Service on a daily basis to ensure the status of all claims were up to date. This would then enable me to resolve and close cases as quickly as possible in order to deliver a prompt response to my clients. Further to this role, I also worked closely with my manager and was given the responsibility of training new and current employees to understand different processes on the system.

I was first point of contact for all staff members, service users and visitors; therefore I was accountable for their safety and movements. As a result of this responsibility I was appointed fire deputy. I worked predominantly independently performing all administrative tasks such as transferring paperwork personnel documents to electronic files, responding to calls and emails, booking rooms for meetings, arranging transportation and postal duties.Further to these responsibilities I also worked closely with all types of NHS professionals. I would assist them daily, by maintaining their records, updating their diaries, arranging and rearranging patient appointments.

While at High School I volunteered at two NHS hospitals, working for their Patient, Advice and Liaison Service department. I dealt with private and confidential information on a daily basis, and handled such data with discretion to ensure data protection. I worked within a team to predominantly help reduce and resolve any issues patients or relatives had. Part of my duty was to assign responsibility to avoid similar problems from occurring in the future, as well as to defuse the situation to prevent a serious complaint to be made against the NHS.As a result of my intervention, I contributed to upholding the NHS’s public image.
