As the Chief Scientific Officer of Blood Cell Technologies, LLC, a private start-up research and development company, I lead the identification and validation of novel compounds relevant to human blood disorders. With a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and a postdoctoral in Chemical Biology, I have more than 15 years of experience in biochemistry, molecular biology, and drug discovery.I have secured more than $2.2M in competitive non-dilutive grant funding (SBIR) to establish a drug discovery program to develop novel treatments for hematological disorders. I have also managed domestic and international research professionals on a collaborative project that resulted in the discovery of small molecules currently in preclinical development. I also help other businesses grow by developing NIH and NSF-funded SBIR proposals (Phase I, Fast Track Phase I/Phase II, and Commercialization Plans) to support research in various areas, including therapeutics and vaccines, diagnostics, medical devices, and scientific platforms. Additionally, I prepare training materials for large pharmaceutical companies.I am passionate about advancing science and innovation and strive to foster positive relationships with collaborators, stakeholders, and clients.
