I worked at Stantec for ten (10) years, starting my career with the Mechanical group in the Vancouver office. After two (2) years, I transferred to the Concepts group, and at the end of year three (3) moved to Calgary to be part of the S3 group there - further moving into leadership by the end of my fifth (5th) year at the company. In my four (4) years as a manager of the S3 team in Calgary, I have brought significant benefit and value to the team and Stantec as a whole::Built a successful and profitable team from the ground - When moving into management, the team of 11 was on its way to a full staff turnover. Over the four (4) years in management, my respective partners and I have built a successful team meeting deadlines, communicating as project managers on budgets/ scope and deadlines, having all documents peer reviewed and leaving of good quality. With a background in mechanical engineering, My focused was on potable water use reduction through non-potable water plumbing and rain water reuse design and energy efficiency in HVAC design. I had become an expert in the LEED Canada program and acted as a third-party reviewer, having participated in the review of over seventy (70) LEED submissions. I had assisted in the facilitation on over 30 projects pursuing LEED certification for several health care, higher education, K-12 schools, theaters, recreation and commercial development projects throughout Canada.Some exciting projects included the Sapperton Waste Heat Recovery Project. Coquitlam Centre Water Recovery Analysis, ASAP II, four high schools pursing LEED Silver certification at once, Geothermal for the New Hampshire Veterans Home, and Alberta Energy Efficiency Impact Analysis.
