I oversaw a small team of three individuals and completed cross-department projects with the President, COO, and Director of IT.During my tenure, I assisted in the execution and integration of five add-on acquisitions that doubled the size of the business, added product lines, and expanded geographic footprint.I spent much of my time working with the team to improve financial reporting. I identified issues with patient census measurement, collaborating with the financial sponsor and executive team to create new KPI definitions to better communicate organic growth. I also rebuilt SOPs and excel templates for 500+ customer monthly invoicing worksheets, utilizing information from 10 separate databases and reducing billing time from 21 to seven days. I also recreated all balance sheet supporting schedules and created accounting policies for various GL accounts to ensure reporting consistency, recommending one-time adjustments to financial sponsor. To conclude the engagement, I identified and quantified numerous material misstatements in historical financial reporting, drafting memorandum for financial sponsor outlining potential liability and potential next steps.I also spent time streamlining accounting operations and treasury management.     I served the company for a four-month period following the involuntary termination of incumbent CFO and two members of the accounting department, overseeing lean team during of only three individuals.From the outset, I worked with the CEO to lead an aggressive restructuring effort that reduced monthly recurring burn rate by over $1 million. I managed detailed rolling cash flow forecast of three entities, which forecasted receipts within 1% accuracy (unfavorable variance) and disbursements within 5% accuracy (favorable variance) over a 13-week measurement period. I also negotiated new payment terms with approximately 20 vendors to delay cash disbursements during a transition to a new revenue cycle management (RCM) vendor.I spent significant time working with senior leadership to increase transparency around KPIs and create tools to hold clinicians more accountable. I created a CPT coding framework and flash reporting to enable the CEO and clinical leadership to understand which clinicians treated patients per company standards. These reports resulted in a 12% increase in revenue per visit within a month of deployment. The flash reporting also helped formulate a new variable compensation plan that increased accountability for clinicians struggling to meet weekly targets. I also created formal definitions of select KPIs impacting the call center, field support staff, clinicians, and RCM teams. I shared this standardized information through a weekly field efficiency report to the senior leadership team.During my tenure, I spent time with the new outsourced RCM vendor in analyzing reimbursement trends by payor, by provider, and by office. I identified bottlenecks in RCM processes and frequent underpayments on CPT codes from certain insurance carriers. The work completed resulted in increased receipts, faster collection times, and increased accountability for the new RCM provider.
