If I told you a story about a young accountant who landed a Craigslist job at a 3-person firm, grew that firm into an Influencer Management company with 100 employees in 3 states, who hangs with some of the most recognizable celebrities in the world, manages revenues of nearly $300 Million, and helped to set in motion a media deal worth nearly $1 Billion, you’d probably think I was pitching a movie. Well, I’m not. I’m Nate Higgins, owner of Semaphore, and that’s my story. As a college graduate I had two skills: Math and Vision. Like most young accountants, I spent time bouncing around from one small firm to another. The work was steady, but I knew there was something more exciting out there. One day after settling into that Craigslist job, a “YouTuber” walked in the door. Now back then “YouTuber” wasn’t really a word. And creating YouTube videos was a hobby for passionate young creatives, not a job. But this YouTuber was making money… a lot of money. In fact, so much money it created a tax problem. And he needed an accountant. But as it turned out, I needed him. Remember that Vision skill I mentioned? Well, I had a clear vision of where Media was going. And I wanted to be part of it. So, I bought into the company and Semaphore was off and running.Over the last 12 years we’ve built Semaphore into one of the most respected Influencer Management agencies in the country. We manage over 500 Creators.
