Nate Hoffman has a professional background focused on effective time management, subject matter expertise, outreach coordination, live presentations, and customer service support. Primarily as a member of the Acumen Credentialing Team, he assists colleagues obtain their PIV badges in compliance HSPD-12. He also creates, manages, and closes project data use agreements to ensure internal researchers have access to the necessary data files in compliance with all Federal security guidelines and regulations. Previously, he was the data request lead on the State Data Resource Center, where he assisted Medicaid agency personnel with program integrity-related inquiries. Before joining Acumen, Nate worked at LegiStorm, where he tracked and published the biographical and contact information for Members of Congress, their staffers, and registered lobbyists in additional to making Congressional salaries, personal financial disclosures, and Lobby Disclosure Act of 1995 and Foreign Agents Registration Act of 1938 records available to the general public. His research at LegiStorm has been featured in various broadcast and print media, including The Atlantic, BuzzFeed, CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360,” National Journal, The New York Times, Politico, Roll Call, and The Washington Post. He also previously interned for then U.S. Sen. John Kerry (D-MA) and former Gov. Deval Patrick (D-MA) in 2012 and 2010, respectively. As a U.S. Senate intern, he assisted constituents with health care-related casework and provided clarification about the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 (ACA) and the National Federation of Independent Business v. Sebelius U.S. Supreme Court case. Nate earned his bachelor of arts degree in history from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where he graduated summa cum laude with greatest honors with distinction and as a member of Phi Beta Kappa and the university’s Commonwealth Honors College. Additionally, he earned his certificate in international relations from the Five Colleges Consortium. His prior professional and educational experiences and involvement in health care, data-focused, and technical assistance positions will ensure his capability to assist future health care opportunities at the Federal and state levels. Nate has passed a completed security investigation from the Federal Government.
