Manage and execute the Transportation needs for two Production Facilities and one Distribution Center. Develop and Implement Supply Chain strategies with internal and external partners for the inbound shipment of raw materials and outbound shipment of finished goods to customers. Responsible for the daily operations of securing equipment, rate negotiation, carrier performance, and load tracking. Responsible for all freight cost/containment activities within the organization, including billing audits and freight payments.Oversee all operations and staff at the Distribution Center; warehousing and transferring raw materials to Rite Pack production facilities, and the warehousing and shipping of finished goods to customers. Function as a liaison between internal and external partners; ensuring that the needs of multiple parties are considered and implemented in Supply Chain solutions.

Oversaw the efficiency and cost effectiveness of all truck shipments company-wide, and the subsequent impact on the entire Supply Chain. Ensured that every customer order and inter-company shuttle order was accurately planned, shipped and delivered on time. Reviewed all load plans, order weights, truck weights, carriers utilized, and additional details required to maximize process performance and identify areas of concern, establishing operational procedures as necessary for continuous improvement. Collaborated within the entire Supply Chain to improve upon operations, costs and services.  Oversaw 14 to 20 direct reports Reported and mentored staff on department KPIs and solutions to improve metrics on collective shipments of 6K loads per week in addition to customer pickup shipments and all large-scale special promotions. Streamlined and standardized multi-department processes as part of a consistent company plan to merge divisions/operations and improve upon issues, departments, employees, and IT variables at hand. Authored SOPs and implemented team training initiatives  Established and maintained investigations to identify and resolve issues before the point of escalation, bringing the Load Planners into the daily processes and mindset to broaden exposure, invoke a sense of mission, and increased contribution to the mission.

Supervised KC Logistics Services Department of 8 staff members and frequently up to 18 staff members company-wide in the departmental role of proactively identifying and communicating service issues to impact issue resolution and enhance customer service. Managed process development, training and scheduling.  Greatly improved every facet of the department, resulting in a 50% increase in communication of service issues, and 20% increase in on-time delivery. Defined best practices and designed training initiatives from both a technical and educational standpoint, continually adapting to new variables across two mergers to improve service/delivery and reduce cost. Hired and trained all new staff in the KC office and successfully challenged each individual to execute their specific role in the expanded manner which had long been envisioned. Applied an enlarged mission to staff member’s role and altered the former perception from low-level contributors to a position of equalized influence within the department. Recognized as one of three top performers with request by Senior Management to lead Supply Chain Projects and assemble participants from other departments to identify/resolve key issues within our Supply Chain for key accounts.

Identified exiting applications and authored new reports to identify and eliminate unaccrued expense and root causes, prioritizing findings by cost savings and ability to bring effective, timely resolution. Significantly improved loading processes, and reduced unloading detention, dwell times, negotiated lumper fees, and eliminated fraudulent lumper charges

Successfully re-established excellence within these roles by exercising self-discipline and a dedication to improving on-time delivery while reducing expense, creating insightful reports to measure and improve key variables. Developed reporting which revealed light truck shipments and the corresponding expense, resulting in a positive multi-departmental shift which brought extra effort toward increasing truck weights by 10%, greatly impacting efficiency and reducing expense. Chosen to investigate/resolve issues pertaining to railcar shipments within the International Transportation Department where missed opportunities and hurdles were preventing the most efficient and cost-effective shipping methods from being utilized.
