Nate has been in the advisory business for nearly 25 years. He is a co-founder and the director of portfolio management at Council Oak Wealth Advisors. He also manages the firm’s discretionary investment portfolios.Nate grew up on a farm in Southeast Kansas, and graduated from Bartlesville, OK High School. He attended Stanford University, where he was a member of the wrestling team, and graduated from the University of Tulsa, majoring in finance. He has earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation from the CFA Institute. The CFA program is one of the highest distinctions in the investment management profession. In addition to specializing in portfolio management, Nate also assists high-net worth executives and entrepreneurs in all aspects of their wealth planning. This includes option exercises, corporate insider trading abilities, deferred compensation plans, business succession planning, and merger and acquisition advice for small-to-medium size businesses. Nate lost his wife, Kim, of 25 years in 2022. He continues to live in their Broken Arrow home. They have two sons, Josh (Denise) and Caleb (Tiffany), and four grandchildren: Jess, Gabriel, William, and Ellington. Areas of service include President of the Board of Governors at the Summit Club, member of the University of Tulsa Collins College of Business Executive Advisory Board, Committee co-Chair for the 2007 PGA Championship at Southern Hills, Tulsa Sports Commission board member, Bartlesville Pony League Baseball President and coach, and coach of the Bartlesville Youth Wrestling Team. Of particular pride to Nate is his relationship with the Student Investment Fund (SIF) at the University of Tulsa. In the 1990’s, Nate’s class was the first to purchase an individual stock for the Fund – then valued at a few hundred thousand dollars. Today, Nate serves as Chairman of the SIF advisory board, now valued at over $7 million. The Fund provides scholarships for the Collins College of Business students.
