Nathaniel “Nate” McMullan holds the and Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor qualification (full AMI member) and is a Technical Expert in the field of rock climbing, specifically all aspects of indoor climbing. He is a current member of the BSI and CEN committees, developing and reviewing international safety standards. He has held the positions and qualifications of: Chair of the Technical Committee of the ABC (Association of British Climbing walls), Chair and Founding Member of the Route Setting Association (RSA), IRATA (Level 3), and has worked at the highest levels in the adventure industry for over 20 years. Nate has a wealth of experience building and maintaining artificial climbing structures of all types and sizes, was a professional Route Setter, completed or supervised over 2000 Main Annual Safety Inspections and has been a consultant Technical Expert for some of the largest climbing centres in the U.K. and one of the largest climbing wall manufacturers in the world as well as multiple global level equipment manufacturers.His experience is not only technical based, he has also overseen all levels of operation for two companies; Climbing Wall Services and Head Rush Technologies (UK Branch). Combined with all of this, he also has published numerous guidance and training documents and assisted the Health and Safety Executive (UK) as a Technical Expert Consultant / Expert Witness.
