During my time as a food runner for The Congress Lake Club, I was a part of a large team of differently skilled individuals. I was responsible for recording orders coming into the kitchen and organized them in an efficient way for all kitchen staff, as well as helping to prepare small food items and side dishes when necessary. A big part of this job was being able to communicate amongst the team to make sure all orders were 100% correct, and that they made it to the table in a timely manner. Through Junior Achievement, I was given the opportunity to create and run my own company with a group of my friends from school. We created the company YouChoose where we used stainless steel tumblers as a vessel to spread the YouChoose Movement. We did this by laser engraving motivational words on to the cups and distributing them throughout not only our hometown, but across the country. Being an equal owner I was a part of virtually all decisions that our company made, from the day we started, until the day we had to shut down because of Covid. My official position inside the company was CTO. I created and managed a website for our company that would complete and process all orders and payments made to the company, and I also used it to monitor trends that could influence company goals to help identify opportunities and risks for the company.I also ran the multiple social media pages that we had to promote our product, but also help spread the movement we were trying to create.

This involved preparing and sanitizing all of the amenities.However, being my first job, this is where I really started to develop my skills in communication in a professional setting. A big part of working out is in the mindset. This is why I made it my goal to ensure that all members and guests had positive experiences and left our facility feeling positive. I greeted members and guests as they arrived, answer calls when the phone rang, and accommodating any requests that may have been had. I wanted them to feel comfortable from the moment they stepped foot inside to the moment they left.
