During my time at the Booster Wine Group, I successfully adapted to the Dynamics 365 Business Central accounting system and provided operational support to users in various departments. My responsibilities included preparing balance sheet reconciliations and management reports.Additionally, I actively participated in adhoc reporting projects such as providing daily business partnering support, processing CAPEX projects, and assisting other departments with data capture and reporting.Notable achievements during my tenure include reducing the month-end close period, streamlining reconciliation workbooks, and developing a comprehensive suite of business policies to ensure best practices.I leveraged a range of software and technology tools throughout my work, including Microsoft Office 365 suite, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, JET Reporting, Square, and VEND.

Due to the significant impact that COVID had on Educating Adventures/ EA Ski and Snowboard, I contacted PKF. I quickly moved back into their audit team as a contractor during their busy season, May to October.This role allowed me to maintain my assurance skills and update my knowledge of the reporting frameworks (NZ IFRS, NZ IFRS RDR, PBEs, AML) irrelevant to my work at Educating Adventures.

Educating Adventures is an international travel company based in Queenstown, providing high-end school group travel to many of the most prestigious schools in the UK, Australia, and New Zealand. They specialise in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) trips based at NASA’s Kennedy Space Centre, Orlando, Florida.As Company Accountant, I worked alongside the divisional managers to provide financial services for each division, utilising Xero ledgers and the Microsoft 365 suite of applications.I moved from Queenstown to Hawkes Bay in February 2019 and continued to work remotely.Software and Technology• Microsoft 365 Administrator• Xero

EA Ski and Snowboard are one of the world’s largest providers of Ski and Snowboard Instructor training programs. They offer programs at resorts spread across Canada, Japan, New Zealand, Switzerland, and the United States.As the Company Accountant, I worked with the divisional managers to ensure accurate data collection, processing, and reporting to the Finance Director and Managing Director.In February 2019, I moved from Queenstown to Hawkes Bay and continued working remotely.

My assigned portfolio of audits were predominately large privately held for-profit companies and co-operative companies. Predominantly reporting under the NZ IFRS and NZ IFRS – RDR regimes.As an auditor, I learnt to interact with the accounting information system of each client. These ranged from Microsoft AX, Nav, and Xero at the larger end right down to MYOB and excel based cashbooks for the smallest clients.I also led the data analytics function, using CaseWare IDEA to identify relationships, patterns, outliers and anomalies within large datasets.

I was part of a five-person assurance team working on a mix of OAG audits, privately held companies and charities predominantly in the rural, education and sports sectors.Working with such a small group on a diverse client base gave me an in-depth understanding of accounting and auditing across different reporting regimes. It also allowed me to interact directly with bankers, lawyers, boards, managers and right down to local club secretaries and treasurers.
