Applied Thermodynamics TA/Grader

Chief advertiser and webpage designer for the MA/MRS club. Also aids in planning and organizing future activities for members to participate in.

NASA funded project consisting of the investigation of TiO2 foams for ultraviolet radiation protection and solar photovoltaic cell application for the International Space Station. Experiments tested under Earth’s gravity and eventually compared to experiments within microgravity via a parabolic flight path.

Meets with prospective students/families to showcase the Statler College of Engineering, and helps lead large college events.

Supported design, manufacturing, machining modifications, measurement, and calibration of specialty tools which aid in aircraft engine assembly, disassembly, and analysis. Made sure specialty tools were revised, safe, efficient, and documented. Also utilized AutoCAD LT for drafting of novel tool blueprints which could be manufactured with ease.

Focused on development of aluminum-based ink for in-space additive manufacturing via 3D printing. Aim was to create components/mechanisms in space, eliminating the need to transport materials and goods, saving money by consuming less fuel during flights (less weight on board). The project consisted of investigating journals to understand chemical compatibility of chosen materials, feedstock fabrication, taking viscosity measurements, printing of ink into complex geometries, sintering of particles, and analyzing samples using SEM and EDS.

Conducted research on various projects within the FEST (Flexible Electronics for Sustainable Technologies) Laboratory at West Virginia University under Dr. Konstantinos Sierros. This lab focuses on 3D printing for many applications. Has aided in team projects including printable, flexible battery fabrication, exfoliation of graphene flakes, NASA soft robotic project, and creation of zinc and graphite based inks. Is responsible for understanding concepts via literature review, planning and carrying out experiments, recording and analyzing data, writing reports, and presenting findings to senior staff. Also performs basic lab tasks such as cleaning/calibrating equipment and overlooking chemical inventory.
