On April 2, 2024, I traveled to East Washington Elementary School in Muncie, Indiana along with my fellow classmates. There, we taught kindergarteners about nutrition, exercise, and their importance related to overall well-being. This immersive learning experience included a reading of the childrens’ book: “Henry Gets Moving”, as well as a nutritional education segment, and an exercise segment. The purpose of this project is to reduce childhood obesity in Muncie, IN, by teaching the importance of balanced nutrition and an active lifestyle. All in all, the kids loved this experience, and I also enjoyed my time teaching the East Washington Elementary students.

I am responsible for working one-on-one with a student who has functional disabilities. It is my job to assist this student throughout the Spring ‘24 semester as they complete their Personal Fitness and Wellness course at Ball State University. I work with this student in the weight room located inside of the recreation center during assigned class times.

Cardinal Wellness is a free, Ball State University faculty and student-facilitated program that sets the stage for families to engage in physical activity, learn about nutritious food preparation, and participate in nutrition and fitness assessments. My role at Cardinal Fitness was attained through the Teacher Scholar Program at Ball State University which allows students to assist professors with research. At Cardinal Wellness, I have administered physical fitness and kidney screening assessments to local citizens of Muncie, Indiana. I have also prepared nutritious meals for the participants of the exercise classes. I was solely responsible for gathering information and pictures as well as laying out a Cardinal Wellness trifold brochure that is used to attract more local citizens of Muncie to the program. I also had access to the Cardinal Wellness social media accounts in order to promote the program

I worked at Planet Fitness as both part-time and full-time overnight team associate. I worked independently in the Crown Point location every weeknight from 10pm to 6am. I performed customer relations management, customer service both face to face and over the phone, gym security, POS transactions, daily profit data collection on Microsoft Excel, janitorial services, and replenishment of the products and sanitizing equipment. I trained three new employees to take over my position before I moved away for school at Ball State University.

I worked as a seasonal, full-time worker during the summer of 2021 as a machine operator at this family-owned machine shop. I maintained and operated a 1980's Mazak lathe to make parts and fill orders. I also transferred and edited programs, used various precision measurement tools, and used many different hand and power tools. I eventually moved away to Vincennes University in early August.
