I was responsible to the squadron commander for coordinating the team that ensured all personnel had the equipment they required, attended the training they needed, and were actioning all required knowledge, skills, and abilities to not just the Air Force standard, but the more rigorous "Mighty 1-8" standard. In addition to these responsibilities, I earned and maintained Combat Mission Readiness to support the XVIII Airborne Corps' and 82d Airborne Division's missions. Uniquely, my support included employing littoral oceanography and coastal meteorology forecast knowledge for the 7th Expeditionary Transportation Brigade's Joint Logistics Over-The-Shore mission, which is a force equivalent to the world's 15th largest navy. Coordinating weather support included negotiating and driving aviation and planning product generation with the 25th Operational Weather Squadron co-located on Davis-Monthan, including orchestrating very fruitful staff exchanges to increase collective awareness and expertise. I trained the team and personally briefed the 3-star commanding general of Air Forces Southern/12th Air Force daily. I coordinated exercise weather support for exercises such as Summit of the Americas and PANAMAX.
