I am devoted to serving our neighbors in need and making our communities better. I am passionate about building people up. At Good Samaritan Services our mission is to compassionately respond to homelessness and poverty. What makes us unique is that we provide a full continuum of care, from emergency housing to eviction prevention, to 300 individuals and families every day across Lancaster & Chester Counties. We have locations in Phoenixville, Kennett Square, Coatesville, Ephrata, and Lancaster City. During my time at Good Sam I have done a little bit of everything...and loved it all! Holding babies, unclogging toilets, writing grant requests, shoveling snow, counseling people in distress, responding to emergencies, leading volunteer groups, and the list goes on. I am grateful that I have been able to grow with the organization.Highlights from my 15+ years at Good Sam:- Developed many partnerships and community relationships, increasing our annual operating budget from under $200,000 to $3.4M- While increasing the operating budget, maintained incredible efficiency and stewardship of donor dollars: it costs us $25 per person/per day to provide shelter, housing, food, supplies and case management services - Increased the number of shelter and housing clients served daily from 15 to 300- Added 12 properties to Good Sam's real estate portfolio- Significantly enhanced our effectiveness through innovate programming (Matched Savings, Microloan, Job Training)- Facilitated 3 mergers/acquisitions, sparking growth and achieving greater client impact while reducing operational costs- Successfully developed and implemented an in-house counseling programSince 2012 Good Samaritan Services has held the Seal of Excellence designation from the Pennsylvania Association of Nonprofit Organizations (PANO). This distinction is given to the best managed and most effective nonprofit organizations.I love innovation and working with others to make an impact.
