About Nate Jacobsen
I bring 26 years of experience in the retail industry. The first fourteen of that was at store level with progressive management experience. When the time came to power forward on the path of becoming a store director or choosing to take an alternate route in my career, I chose one that better utilized my educational background and fed my desire to make larger decisions on a grander scale. Sixteen years ago I began my journey in the Merchandising world of retail. My merchandising journey included opening dozens of large format stores, creating a value banner format from the ground up, and developing and building new department spaces within the company. After 24 years with same institution, I decided to venture out and seek different opportunities and diversify my merchandising skills through the lens of a wholesaler. I walked into a situation that was filled with opportunity. In my short time with the wholesaler, I have identified gaps in the work flow processes and acted on the processes improvements to make the department more efficient, mended our working relationship with a critical third party partner and helped grow their staff, and implemented and oversaw the conversion of our primary software critical to the improvement of the efficiency of the department. Looking forward ahead to the future, I am excited to be assisting with the possible roll out of a pilot project that we are currently testing that would link up with our new space planning software and vastly improve the efficiencies of not only the merchandising team, but also the entire category sales team. If this pilot is adopted by my organization, it will save the category managers, the data analytics team, and the space planning team an enormous amount of time and allow each time to reallocate time and resources to focus on making out member's lives easier and more profitable.

Lomar is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hy-Vee Inc. We provide Hy-Vee with their specialty and organic products and provide sales and merchandising assistance and product knowledge for today's emerging trends. I create and maintain all natural and organic plan o grams for HyVee's Health Market, our store within a store organic market concept. On a weekly basis I work with HyVee's Merchandising team communicating new items and trends within the specialty and organic categories. We also work together on Center Store merchandising initiatives to help fulfill our companies vision. I spend a good portion of my week on the road attending new store sets as well as existing store remodels and Health Market expansion projects. I work over our sales team in the field on these projects along with auditing their stores, looking for missed merchandising opportunities and to see if they were able to sell the stores on our specific distribution push items. On a monthly basis I work alongside HyVee's Vice President of Health Markets on monthly merchandising ideas for the stores. We analyze our next month's ads and allowance deals and put together a packet of sales opportunities for the executives to present to the store directors as a way to grow sales and profit.
