Lead staff of 140 employees and over 200 volunteers. Oversee fiscal and clinical operations, philanthropy, business development, and strategic planning. Serve as Pathways’ spokesperson in the community and in the media.

Responsible for planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of bereavement, social work, chaplaincy, volunteer services, and complementary therapies for the largest not-for-profit hospice in Massachusetts. Spearhead marketing, outreach, fundraising, and educational activities for programs and services. Serve as an active member of the senior leadership team to support operations, development, marketing, and community & government relations activities.

Direct operations and implement strategic vision for the Bertolon Center for Grief & Healing. Provide operational and programmatic oversight for the Pediatric Hospice service. Directed day-to-day operations of 60-bed skilled nursing facility in Rockland, ME with approximately 70 employees and $3.1M budget. Increased Average Daily Census (ADC) from 42 to 51, and Average Length of Stay (ALOS) from 24 to 37 in six month period.

Provided supportive counseling to patients and families coping with life-limiting illness. Developed and facilitated multiple workshops on death, dying, and bereavement for providers and community.

Conducted health services utilization research and prepared managed care impact analyses for international client base. Studied impact of hospital and health systems mergers and acquisitions on patient care, financing, delivery of services, and patient/family satisfaction.

Coordinated series of focus groups with patients, families, providers, and insurers as part of Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS) study researching effect of managed care on behavioral health services.
