About Natesha Johnson, Mpa

As the founder and owner of Upside Productions Management, a strategic partnership company in Bakersfield, CA, specializing in cultivating relationships focusing on diversity, equity, and inclusion outreach. With more than 22 years of business, employment and career consulting experience, she is an in-demand motivational speaker with expertise in strategic planning, career development, and workforce retention. She has developed and facilitated workshops locally as well as on a national level. She is known for developing, implementing and executing workforce strategies currently being used by the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act as best practices. Over the years, she has received numerous awards for her selfless dedication to hercommunity, including, Bakersfield Beautiful Awards Humanitarian of the Year, 2021,NAACP Woman of the Year; Garden Pathways Woman with a Heart of Bakersfield; MLK Committee Community Service and Leadership, CSUB “Walk the Talk” CommunityService Award by the Black Faculty Staff Association and more. She has most recentlybeen inducted into the Bakersfield College Alumni Hall of Fame and received the Wendy Wayne Ethic Wards, 2023. Making history, NaTesha was the first African American president of the Historic Bakersfield Fox Theater in over 91 years. She is the third African American female to hold the state appointed position to the Kern County Fair Board, by former California Governor, Jerry E. Brown and Gavin Newsome administration. In addition, NaTesha serves as the 2023 Chair of the Bakersfield Women’s Business Conference and member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Also, under the tutelage of KCCD Chancellor Sonya Christian, NaTesha is the Director of Entrepreneurship and Workforce Development servicing focusing on improving economic mobility and bringing resources to small businesses and entrepreneurs. NaTesha is also an Adjunct Professor at CSUB for the School of Business & Public Administration.NaTesha is a product of local schools in and around Bakersfield – Go Mustangs![McKinley] Go Eagles!
