I am an inventor and researcher who works to connect humans to nature. The mosquito trap I am developing will protect people from mosquitoes without impacting the environment, and the ArcGIS maps that I create help people to understand complicated problems. I am a naturalist and laissez faire gardener. I founded Mississippi Woodland Nursery in 2019 to provide native plants to clients across Mississippi. Since then, I've spoken to Master Gardeners and college students, helped teach the Central Mississippi Master Naturalist course, and collaborated with Mississippi State University Campus Landscaping to highlight plants that naturally occur on campus. My research on prairie spiders and pollinator-plant interactions has equipped me with the tools to mobilize citizen science campaigns, and I am creating a network of mosquito-monitoring naturalists to increase our knowledge of mosquitoes across the southeast.
