In this role, I work on multiple aspects of planning for our new Frank Geary-designed hall, including the development of strategic and community partnerships, programming, and staffing, as well as a multitude of items related to the development of the performance unit of the School.

►Appointed as the first Dean for Community Initiatives at the Colburn School with a goal to work with senior leadership build lasting community partnerships and activities that advance the vision and mission of the school. ►Direct the newly formed Colburn Center for Innovation and Community Impact, which is an evolution of the current Career Development and Community engagement initiatives at the institution. The Center engages students, faculty, and staff from all units of the institution as well as alumni and members of the performing arts community in career development and community impact programming.

► Established first Director of Community Engagement and Career Development position at the institution with a goal to establish the organization as a leader in the field through programming and thought leadership. ► Partnered with internal and external stakeholders to develop a strategy for two diverse, relevant, and impactful community-based programs which are core to Colburn’s mission: 1.) Pipeline of Learning Programming: A focused program serving 200 students of need 5+ hours a week from 5th grade through graduation. 2.) Community Impact Programming: Programming developed to help Conservatory students become thriving musicians in the 21st century through a suite of community-based performances, interactive performances and a teaching pedagogy program, resulting in 100% annual participation in community-impact programming within the Conservatory. ► Grew Colburn’s board member engagement and increased community-based programming by serving as the staff-liaison for the Community Engagement Advisory Committee and initiating regular engagement between Colburn’s President, the Director of Development, and with Colburn’s Board of Directors. ► Collaborate with the institution’s development team to manage a portfolio of grants and provide support for individual donors, ensuring grant compliance and full funding of programming. ► Manage a $1 million-dollar budget, a staff of two and 25+ teaching artists who work on a suite of programs, providing engagement activities to 5,000+ students from the Los Angeles area.► Lead the career development initiatives at Colburn, including: career advisement, two career development seminars (Teaching Musician and Working Musician, and the Annual New Venture Competition, resulting in individualized pathways for students pursuing a career in the arts.

Arts Enterprise was a national, chapter organization that sought to educate, promote, and support emerging leaders who blend entrepreneurial thought and artistic creativity to inspire social growth and sustainable ventures.► Oversaw all day-to-day operations, maintained and managed relationships with key stakeholders, spoke 10+ times each year at conferences and on university campuses. ► Grew Arts Enterprise to 8 chapters, 200+ programs held by members, developed a vibrant social network (550+ fans on Facebook) and, received 8,000+ unique visits to the AE website. ► Raised $15,000+ for summit activities, handled all logistics, co-authored Membership Guide, Guide to Entrepreneurship, and Chapter Handbook, 20+ sessions per conference. ► Co-directed a year-long consulting project with NOLA charter school service provider New Orleans Outreach, led team of 16 students (BGSU, UofM) who logged 2,500+ volunteer hours, raised $20,000+ for project, orchestrated extensive team building, and spent six months setting up the project with key constituents. ► Calculated an estimated $150,000 in consulting services, authored a team report, capacity report, and fee-for-service plan. Resulted in an estimated $60,000 in funding for partner organization

► Grew the bassoon studio from three students to fifteen in a period of two years. ► Encouraged whole-minded thinking through bassoon performance and engaged in discussions about careers beyond music.► Coached weekly wind chamber ensembles, the bassoon methods class, and the bassoon studio/reed class. ► Developed and taught the Creativity and Innovation class as part of the BGSU entrepreneurship minor within the College of Business Administration. ► Worked with students and faculty from across the institution to help them understand the role of creativity in the workplace.

► Built and established an ensemble of musicians dedicated to breaking down the barriers between musicians and their audience. ► The non-profit organization provided contemporary communication through the arts through 10+ performances and lectures each year for the local community.

► Taught general music to 600+ students at Camp Allen Elementary school where 60% of the students were on free/reduced lunch. ► Incorporated VA Standards of Learning into lessons during the first two years of No Child Left Behind.
