Being trained as architect, interior architect and building biologist Nathalies goal is to design buildings from the inside- out based on building biology. "Building biology is the interdisciplinary science that focuses on the health, comfort and sustainability of buildings and the effect of those buildings on the environment". In the Netherlands about 40 building biologist are active. In Germany many thousands are active in the field of building biology.As a building biologist she knows the importance of design: if you want to make a healthy and sustainable building the first steps in a design are critical. The layout, the exact location of the building, the orientation of a building, where to place certain spaces; all are equally important to create a healthy and functional building. During the design, it is also about the materials. There are good and bad choices to be made. As a building biologist, Nathalie knows how to choose the right and healthy materials.
