As a seven-year-old girl I won my first essay competition. After my High School years I studied Dutch language and literature at the University of Leiden and Communication Sciences at the University of Utrecht. My company FreeLans BV was founded in 1993. FreeLansFreeLans stands for communication in the broadest sense of the word. We have been writing and designing magazines, books, annual reports, brochures and newsletters since 1993. We draw up communication plans, design logos, develop websites and organize social media. Our activities also extend to special events featuring some of the world's foremost artists. FreeLans' home base is an inspiring former mansion of a distiller built in 1850, located in the heart of the dynamic international port of Rotterdam and Offshore Valley. Here, we work hard on behalf of our customers, who include museums, schools, foundations and — how could it be otherwise — international maritime companies like Stena Line, Alphatron Marine | JRC, Damen Shipyards, ROG, OSA and Rotortug.NL2Although FreeLans still is a successful communication agency and publishing house I have started NL2 to express my love for music as a writer and as a creator. NL2 is the square of Nathalie Lans.‘Music is the literature of the heart’. It is written on one of the walls of the studio of NL2 and it is so true. In your darkest days music can comfort, in joy music can create euphoria, but music can also confirm love and hope. Music beats. There are not many words needed in music to speak from the heart. That’s what the lyrics of NL2 are intended to do. Music inspires. It can even influence our lives. Why would one person choose for punk while the other loves classic? And can rock coexist with jazz? In music there are no limits. Not for the musicians and not for the listeners. But each artist has his own musical story! Stories that NL2 record in all its purity. CONCERTS​NL2 organizes public concerts, but also intimate concerts for private or business events.NL2 is also responsible for the programming of MusicDistillery that is entering a world called music. From New Orleans to Casablanca, from Lagos to Schiedam. At this intimate festival you immerse yourself in a wonderful distillate of musical styles. For three days world-renowned artists take you on a musical journey. Starting point is the historic jenever city of Schiedam. We organize MusicDistillery every autumn in the Noletloodsen, located opposite the centuries old distillery where Nolet has been making the famous Ketel 1 since 1691.
