I work at the local golf course in between school semesters. Last summer I mainly had the responsibility of keeping track of the carts, cleanliness, and maintenance of the clubhouse and course. This summer I was primarily used inside the pro shop handling finances, inventory, ranging the course, and handling tournaments.

Roanoke, Virginia Area

While interning here I worked with the director of operations setting up information about registrations, events, and the 2016 Virginia Commonwealth Games. I have also worked with the event coordinator doing calendars for all 2016 events, setting up the sport list for the Commonwealth Games this year, and helped with letters such as MLB and NCAA recruiting letters and PR announcements. I have worked with the marketing director recently and have done a lot of research on advertising materials for the Commonwealth Games this summer. Some of the things I have found have been ordered by my supervisor and will be put up around the state for the 10,000 plus athletes that are expected to compete in the games. My biggest accomplishments at VAS were coming up with the official #hashtag for the 2016 Commonwealth Games and creating flyers and a newsletter that went out to media around the state to advertise the 2016 Commonwealth Games.

Radford, Virginia

During school I am one of the Facility Supervisors at the gym on campus. I have the responsibility of tending to any patron needs or questions, knowing how to operate the computer systems and some machinery, helping out my superiors, and making sure the gym is clean for the patrons health and safety.

When I was a sophomore I took the roles of Vice President or the Men's club Basketball and Volleyball at Radford University. Later that year I was elected President of the Men's Club Basketball team. As the Vice President and President of the Basketball Club I was responsible for filing the necessary paperwork in order for our team to be registered, get jerseys, travel, and get into tournaments. I would present this material to the Sports Club Council when we had meetings. When I took on the president role I took on more of a coaching role, organizing the roster and practices, managing playing time for my players, and still being responsible for getting us to games. As the Vice President of the Volleyball Club I organized much of the same paper work as I did for basketball while taking a leadership role in the team in practices.

While in high school I worked at the local swimming pool. I worked at the front desk where I handled money and patrons, the concession stand where I handled money and inventory, and I was also a lifeguard where I had the responsibility of watching over the pool and the surrounding area. I also was required to be CRP, AED, and First Aid certified for this job
