Resident Advisor
Current• Event management - Organizing activities that promote academic excellence, Residence Life, personal growth, and well-being.• Health and safety - Ensuring safety and security in the building by completing rounds in the evening and enforcing the Residence Community Standards.• Communication – roommate conflict resolution, stress management, Advised students on personal and academic matters and making appropriate referrals to College or community services• Equity, diversity and inclusion - Created an inclusive Residence community for students to live in, being an ally and allowing for the development of positive social interactions• Community Building - Organize and facilitate community-building activities to foster relationships among residents.• Crisis Management - Serve as a primary responder to emergencies and crisis situations within the residential halls, providing support and guidance to residents as needed.• Conflict Resolution: Mediate conflicts and disputes among residents, promoting open communication and understanding.• Support Services: Provide information and referrals to support services, such as counseling, academic advising, and health services.• Activity Programming: Develop and implement educational and social programming to address the needs and interests of residents, including workshops, discussions, and recreational activities.• Administrative Duties: Complete administrative tasks, such as documenting incidents, maintaining resident records, and submitting reports to appropriate college personnel
