In summary, my role as an Assistant Manager includes overseeing the day-to-day operations of multiple engagements for which I manage whilst maintaining audit quality, and resolving accounting issues that arise during the audit engagement. My key responsibilities include:- Managing a client portfolio and build/maintain a good working relationship with clients- Identify areas where the firm can implement business solutions that help our clients unlock potential for growth- Assists the audit partner in establishing audit objectives and overall scope- Ensure that audit work papers have been properly reviewed and that the audit report reflects the work performed and meet set reporting and auditing standards- Lead and mentor teams in order to establish a high performance environment- Acts as a role model and understands the commercial implications of actions relating to productivity, recoverability, fee income and client service- Co-ordinates all aspects of the audit including staff resource allocation, attending client meetings and internal review requirements- Assists in the production and presentation of proposals for new work.I also support managers/senior managers to deliver the audit of larger, higher risk clients. This generally includes large international businesses and listed groups whereby there are multiple subsidiary companies. I have a varied portfolio of clients that have different reporting requirements (UK GAAP, FRS102, IFRS, US GAAP, US GAAS, AICPA/PCAOB) and operate within different industries including but not limited to telecommunications, manufacturing, media, safety and fire installation, steel stock holders and logistics. I am also responsible for promoting school leaver recruitment in the Birmingham office which involves leading and working with a team to actively target sixth forms and colleges and attend career events in order to identify and recruit talented individuals that will add value to the organisation and our clients.
