For over a decade I committed myself to the field of public education to give back to the community and pay it forward to all of the teachers who helped pull me out of poverty and provide me with the opportunities I now have today.I rose to the top of the teaching profession, winning countless awards and recognition. My best reward was the thousands of students I was able to influence and create a belief in themselves that a better life was not only attainable but highly probable given the right mindset and education. For seven consecutive years, my student achievement results were in the top 1% of teachers in the state of Florida. I did my best to change a system that has become increasingly bureaucratic and full of self-inflicted barriers that prevent students from easily getting what they need. Financially, it is not worth it to start your own school system. I believe the only solution to the systemic issues in education is to create more competition in easily accessible public education. In order to change the status quo, you must do it better than they can, at an equal or lower price, and make it sustainable and scalable. I'm interested in helping anyone looking to compete against the current status quo in education.
