As well as carrying out Production engineering of new components on press brake machines, which also entailed designing gauges, calculating bend centres and producing works instructions for production processes. Other duties involved designing templates for welding/plating processes. As well as expediting raw plate steel from suppliers to meet the company's production demands. As part of my duties I was also tasked with work centre scheduling, production planning for the profiler work cells, as well as general administration, drawing control and stock control goods in and out. During my time at Katmex I gained extensive experience with Aventa mrp system. I had a great working relationship with my colleagues, vendors and customers it was my pleasure to have worked with them all.
Cnc Machinist
During my time at JJ Hardy and Sons Ltd I worked as a CNC setter/operator. Work involved the use of the following machinery. CNC vertical mills and CNC centre lathes with the following controls, Mazatrol and Fanuc. Employees were expected to machine components to tight tolerances and express the ability to be able to carry out final inspection on your own components using a coordinate measuring machine and fine measuring equipment. The ability to translate engineering drawings was also a must for all employees.
Australia Temporary Work Visa.
Whilst in Australia I was employed on a temporary working visa and was only allowed to work at any one company for three months at a time. This was due to restrictions of being on this visa. During my stay in Australia I was employed by various companies as a general manual machinist. Using milling machines, centre lathes, cylindrical grinders and surface grinders.
Apprentice Toolmaker
Nationally recognised apprenticeship served as a Toolmaker/ Tool die technician. Training included, precision and mechanical fitting, maintenance of die tools, injection mould tools and the use of the following machinery. Centre lathes, Cylindrical grinders, Jig Borers, EDM spark erosion machines, Milling machines manual and CNC. The interpretation of engineering drawings as well as the ability to reverse engineer components. The use of fine measuring equipment as well as the ability to carry out final inspection of components. All training was in conjunction with NVQ accreditation and day release college course in mechanical engineering.
