I have 3+ years of lab experience from summer internships and my master's program at TN Tech University. There I learned to grow, purify, tag, and examine the structure of topoisomerase-IIalpha (critical in cell replication) through NMR to aid in cancer research. I have been published in numerous abstracts for my work. I then went on to get a master's in Urban Education from Union University with which I am in my 5th year of teaching in an urban context. I am a skilled educator enough that I was approached to be a mentor teacher in my 3rd year of teaching. I currently hold the science department PLC leadership position, which includes directing the goals and direction of our science instruction in the high school and mentoring colleagues through lesson plan feedback and observations. I have expertise in my chemistry content, pedagogy, and mentoring ability. Lastly, I have also held numerous other paid and unpaid positions in many different environments. I have four years of experience in ministry as a college-aged Younglife leader at a rural high school called Livingston Academy where I led discussions, and camping trips, and built relationships with dozens of high schoolers and adults over my time there. I worked two holiday seasons in retail, a summer internship as a food runner at Dollywood's Splash Country water park, a tutoring work-study for four years at my university, and many other jobs that have stretched me and given me the confidence to handle any challenge! I am always open to try new things and pride myself on my flexibility and eagerness to learn.
