Embedded Design Engineer
As part of the MRI-compatibility testing group for medical devices, I developed test equipment used to qualify future products. I provided turnkey solutions by gathering requirements and applying my knowledge of RF systems to design application-specific test equipment to validate that pacemakers and neural stimulators do not cause safety concerns when patients are in MRI chambers. For these designs, I created schematics, drafted HDI PCB layouts, performed simulations, wrote firmware and client software. Some technologies I used for these embedded systems include Texas Instruments ARM-core microprocessors (CC2640), Bluetooth Low Energy, C# programming inWindows, Mentor Graphics DxDesigner, PADS CAD software, Altium, and various test equipment.I was also able to leverage past experience as a test engineer to write calibration procedures and provide tolerances on generated test data. This work was used to complete FDA-validation for multiple implantable medical devices.(This role started as an internship, and then continued as a part-time remote contractor)
