For the past nine years I have worked for Schurman Retail Group, namely, Papyrus, and have grown from an Assistant Manager to an Area Manager. I was most recently responsible for more than 3 million dollars in sales across two states and six stores. I was a company leader in both sales and merchandising, however, the most rewarding part of my job was working with and training my team. I worked hard discovering each individual’s strength and developing them professionally. My responsibilities at Schurman Retail Group grew throughout the years and I thrived on the challenges presented to me. As an Area Manager I was responsible for hiring and staffing all six stores throughout the year to maintain the needs of the business. It was my job to finalize all of the new hire paperwork, making sure that it was compliant with all state and federal government guidelines, before it was sent to the corporate headquarters for processing. Many of these staffers were college students who also needed me to work with their class/work schedules. I found it important to be flexible in scheduling to come up with solutions that were mutually beneficial to both the student and the business. In addition to my management responsibilities I also helped set the standard for store presentations company-wide by helping to build out company visual directives. These visual launch kits were used by all stores nationwide. My team of six stores was also responsible for the highest percentage of store rewards enrollments in the entire company, almost 6% higher than the company average. That being said, I was chosen to head a team of other area managers to come up with a training program in an attempt to boost rewards enrollments throughout the company. believe that my resume demonstrates my abilities as a leader and a key team player in every organization I have been a part of.
