he Life Skills Specialist primarily provides persons served with face-to-face contact for the purpose of coaching, teaching, or assisting consumers in meeting Person-Centered Treatment Plan goals necessary to improve functioning in major life domain areas. The Life Skills Specialist is an active member of the consumer’s treatment team, providing service delivery monitoring, staffing the consumer with the psychiatrist,therapist, clinical supervisor, or other treatment team members, and coordinating care. The services that the Life Skills Specialist provides are under the supervision of a Licensed Professional or a QBHP and are driven by the treatment plan of the consumer. Life Skills Specialists follow best practice treatment models within a Recovery-based perspective that is intended to promote resiliency, optimal community participation, and eventual independence from ongoing professional behavioral health support. Life Skills Specialists utilize the following models and approaches to meeting the consumers’ needs:• Person-Centered Treatment Planning (PCTP)• Motivational Interviewing (MI)• The Wellness and Recovery Model and Approach• The Cummins Behavioral Health Systems, Inc. Life Skills Specialist Service Delivery Model• And other defined best practice modalities
