I spent nearly 10 years in the high-speed, low-drag world of law enforcement and I loved every minute of it. During that time I also began to transition into sales (direct & b2b). Between the two professions I became proficient in many things, however the most important skill set I mastered was the art of building relationships with the people I met.To begin with it was about gaining their trust which made my job easier; however, I quickly realized that by nurturing that initial bond I shared with them, that I was able to build lasting relationships. These relationships are what set me apart from others in my industry. Through the bonds I had created with people, came unequivocal loyalty. Not only was the customer retention at an all time high, but also referrals were through the roof while; meanwhile, others were chasing leads. In fact, I had more all around business than I could handle on my own. It was then that I truly realized what had happened. By making an effort to nurture those relationships I created a place in the minds of all my customers. By "giving to give" instead of "giving to get", my business came full circle.Currently, I own and manage a successful landscaping company; however, my primary focus is helping businesses and business professionals grow in their respective industries. I share with others the concept of "appreciation over self-promotion", and how taking the time to build relationships drastically increases customer retention and referrals. People who say they don't have time are often saying that because they are so busy chasing down clients... With that being said, I'm happy to share what I've learned with anyone who wants to grow in their own personal development...and chances are I'll learn something from you as well!
