Autonomous Load and Haul

Working with a small team to deliver the mine expansion from IO Major Projects into the commissioning phase. Reporting to the General Manager our team liaised with Project teams and large Contractor teams to ensure timely, safe and cost effective addition of specialised fleet, installation of infrastructure and management of project budget. Delivering real cost savings to the business by optimising fleet and expected outcomes.

Working a back to back 8/6 roster I was responsible for the safe and effective Maintenance of the Large Mining fleet including CAT 793f, 789, D10, 16M & 994 loader fleet. This team also maintained the Autonomous CAT793f fleet. Safely completing planned and break in work with a team of approx 120 technicians, I am proud to say that my time in role was marked with 2 events of plus 365 days LTI free.

Working a 8/6 roster I was responsible for the team that started Mobile Maintenance @ Jimblebar. Auxiliary Maintenance covers all Light vehicles, lighting plant, generators and small plant. In this role I was also responsible for the start up of the Dewatering team and plant that maintained and operated the bore fields.

Whilst working back to back, I currently lead & support a team of eight (8) mechanics and five (5) crane driver/riggers that maintains the fleet of >360 Light Vehicles & Service Trucks and provide support to the mines infrastructure.Working within the company’s safety guidelines I work closely with the Superintendent & Manager for the Mine Services Maintenance Support Department to ensure that we have resourced the correct amount of work-space, tooling & people to provide long term maintenance support to the ever growing support fleet & our customers crane requirements.This role includes the everyday management of people & labour resources to work to the company’s long term & short term Maintenance Plan. In addition I support the management structure as acting Superintendent as & when required, including budget processing, purchasing, month to month accounting and target setting for teams.

Responsible for the development of new Service Contract business, the Management and Monitoring of existing business, the conformance of on-site and regional staff to all contractual obligations, and the provision of support to on site contract staff via the Regional Service Managers & Contract Support Manager.

This role included responsibility for an administration team Sales staff, Field Service Technicians, including satellite operations and OH&S responsibilities for a further three (3) regional Sales members. Targets in this role include ‘real growth’ of business, OH&S LTIFR targets, NIS results and Gross profit of 10 -14% per annum. 2005 – Achieved 110% of budget. 2006 – Achieved target for 110% growth2007 – Budget increase of 48% NIS, achieved 40% @ year end Set, monitor and report on 34 individual business line, 3 year rolling target and budgets.
