I have always been intrigued by geography and studying the physical and cultural features of the world. I received my B.A. in Geography from Kent State University at the conclusion of the Fall 2023 semester. I graduated with honors (4.0 GPA), and I was inducted into the Geography Honors Society: Gamma Theta Upsilon.As part of my curriculum, I have worked primarily with ArcGIS Pro, as well as QGIS. Throughout my coursework, I have gained a foundation in cartographic design, data classification, and map projections. In addition, I am proficient in analyzing and importing data tables when working with online platforms such as Microsoft Word and Excel. My work through class projects has reinforced skills throughout my education in Geography, as well as provided me with knowledge in GIS applications in the field. This includes importing data to ArcGIS Pro and analyzing metadata. For my first task as a GIS intern with the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District (MWCD), I had to plot sanitary utilities for the Atwood Regional Water Sewer District (ARWSD). I used the master geodatabase that contained data to plot sanitary manholes for each cottage site at Atwood Lake in Ohio. I used CAD drawings to find their location, as well as Pictometry. This service (Pictometery) contains aerial imagery of all the MWCD lakes. In addition, the CAD drawings illustrated the pipes that connect the manholes, as well as their measurements. Once I georeferenced the images, I could plot the points and lines on the basemap, and enter the measurements into their respective metadata files. In addition, I worked two on-campus jobs at Kent State Stark. I was a student employee with the Maintenance Department, and also a tutor at Kent State Stark. I tutored Geography courses, Environmental Studies courses, and Spanish courses.
