I currently manage two related engineering teams that are focused on building excellent experiences for the connected accounts of platforms and marketplaces. We are primarily concerned with user onboarding and embedded finance components that give platforms control over look and feel while providing best-in-class, Stripe-managed features. I have 17 direct reports between the two teams.

Beginning in August 2022 I managed a team of 7 engineers building the infrastructure layer for Connect Embedded Components (themeable, embedded finance components that platforms and marketplaces can build directly into their sites). In March 2023 the team merged with another team working on the UI layer and grew to a total of 11 engineers.From March 2023 to January 2024 I also concurrently managed a team of 4 engineers building more flexible integration options for Connect that allow businesses to choose the right set of features (pricing controls, risk and loss liability ownership, compliance and onboarding ownership, and access to different UI surfaces).

I managed a team of 7 engineers that built infrastructure used to enable platforms to distribute and control payments adjacent and other financial products for their users, including local payment methods, Terminal devices and capital loans. Full stack with distributed systems architecture challenges and end user facing frontend surfaces.

Engineering Lead for end-to-end sharing infrastructure at Google, powering people autocompletion, people suggestions, and sharing flows in a wide variety of Google applications (Gmail, Calendar, Drive/Docs, Photos, Maps, etc). My team built UI components and client data libraries for Android, iOS, and the web, which facilitate billions of end-user connections daily on Google services. My organization had a total of 16 frontend engineers (2 Engineering Managers reporting to me) and I co-led the broader team of 35.

Technical Lead for sharing experiences in Google applications on Android, and people manager for a mid sized team working on sharing experiences and Google Contacts (started at 4, grew to 10).

Android and web development for several Google consumer applications including Google+, Photos, YouTube and Gmail.

Implemented common infrastructure including a frontend file upload library, and common file picker for various types of data stored in Google services (Drive files, photos, maps, calendar events, etc.).

I wrote a large portion of the initial JavaScript web application client used by human translators to translate documents. It was a great experience at an exciting start-up while I was in grad school.

I wrote comprehensive regression tests for the ArcSDE C and Java APIs. This was an unusually long internship (10 months) where I deferred from my undergraduate studies when I got married. My wife was finishing her masters degree in California, and working at ESRI was a really fantastic and unique experience mid-bachelors degree. It definitely helped me understand software engineering in a way that guided the direction of my BS/MS studies afterward.
