Helped test Mayo clinic’s platform for aggregating medical data with a focus on AI results derived from medical imagery. This was a new green field project and changing quickly, so the emphasis was mostly on manual testing. The stack was built on a react front-end with back-end REST interfaces written in C# .NET. QA work was focused on a couple of key areas: accuracy of AI results, performance (both front-end and REST), and aligning the product with the clinical practitioners who would be using it.

Worked on the www.amazon.com/clouddrive team as a QA engineer. Wrote test plans and helped drive QA for all the cloud drive platforms (iOS, Android, Fire tablet/TV, web, desktop and services). The position required knowledge of the entire development stack from the end user experience to performance, scalability and data integrity on the service side.I also participated in writing automated tests for the Android and Fire device platforms in Java. From there I moved to the iOS team where we wrote a new test harness based on XCUI using swift and xCode.Most of the time I would be testing and driving new features, analyzing customer feedback and performing root cause analysis on issues. When time allowed, we focused on writing new tools and automation to reduce the time spent on manual testing.

As part of the SCOM team I wrote tools and test-code to test SCOM Management Packs and associated infrastructure. These management packs in turn would provide management and diagnostic alerting for the full range of Microsoft's Enterprise technologies (AD, SQL, IIS, Cluster, HyperV, etc..).In particular I worked on Management Pack infrastructure. This involved writing automation to test the client/server SDKs and their associated entity representation in both .NET and SQL. During this time, many of my tools were shipped as part of the Operations Manager reskit.After management packs I worked with Application Diagnostics team in SCOM. This feature of SCOM directly injects application monitoring into .NET/Java/Javascript applications in order to provide fine granularity metrics and alerting (method level performance/exception information). I was responsible for testing and providing tooling for both SCOM integration and it's subsequent move to Azure.On the VMM team I helped maintain and develop the test infrastructure framework for running the teams automation. This involved deploying a fully distributed test environment from bare metal through test execution to results reporting. The position required wearing many hats. VMM as a product integrates deeply with Microsoft's enterprise stack. At any given point in time I could be: - Writing/debugging powershell scripts to increase realiability of cluster creation and configuration. - Re-factoring the test code build system to incorporate the latest .NET release. - Performing root cause analysis on DNS/Active Directory integration. - Walking through test & product code in the debugger to diagnose issues. - Providing feedback to test and product code through code reviews.
