As the VDC Coordinator for the Project, Nathan was responsible for managing the provided 3D digital model from the Client. After receiving the model from Navisworks, SmartPlant 3D, Revit and AutoCAD, it was Nathan’s responsibility to create a federated model and import it into Graham’s preferred modeling software, InEight Model, so that the project team could readily access and use the model. Nathan also ensured the project team (50+ indirect project staff) was trained to use InEight Model and could efficiently and effectively use the provided model to plan and execute the work.Nathan has also been vital in establishing an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) program on several projects that conducts weekly missions which track progress, calculate volumes of material, and the creation of photo reports for weekly reporting. UAV’s also proved invaluable on the project for incident investigations which aided in providing a critical perspective of the scene while the operator was able to remain at a safe distance.

As a project coordinator, Nathan was involved with day-to-day site management such as material procurement, sub-trade management, earthworks quantity reporting, project controls, field installation work packages and building turnover packages. Nathan has worked on several large industrial projects in BC, Alberta and Saskatchewan valued between $29M and $400M. With a strong dedication to his work and keen attention to detail, Nathan has the focus and ability to perform his duties with quality results in both individual and team settings.

Large scale residential/ commercial renovations and construction valued from $25,000 to $1,000,000. Nathan had a wide array of experience from working on the tools, managing subcontractors, procurement, permitting with the City of Calgary and working with the Client. Nathan tracked change events, procured materials, wrote contracts, tracked costs, and developed marketing strategies.

The URS Management Training Program focuses on developing supervisory staff with the broad managerial, technical and administrative skills necessary to deliver quality service to the customer and to ensure URS employees are properly supervised, trained, and mentored.Supporting site Project Controllers by managing Material Requisitions and accurately tracking and entering the Total Commitments for accurate cost reporting. Receive time tickets from site superintendent to enter time and equipment and send to the client for approval. Communicate with site superintendent to be proactive in ordering materials or sourcing equipment needed. Proper procurement procedures were followed in ordering from vendors. Tracking equipment usage and hours to ensure when we are finished with our equipment it isn’t left accruing cost to the project. Tracking purchase orders and ensuring proper cost codes were being used to more accurately project completion dates and staying under budget.
