They’re all ageing and many are no longer fit for purpose or meet the expectations of users in today’s world.However the reality is, there will never be enough money to fix all the problems. The challenge, and opportunity, for those responsible for these building assets, is knowing what to do, where to spend their money and why.And that’s a hard game to play when you don’t have all the right information.After graduating as an engineer, my early career was founded on gaining an appreciation that context and insight are extremely powerful … and the lack of them, a good teacher. Whether it was conducting contaminated land investigations, delivering insurance risk mitigation programmes, in national facilities management roles, or implementing early-stage carbon credit trading schemes, the lessons were the same – those that understand the data, create the value.Macutex was founded in 2006 with the belief that there had to be a better way. Not just a better way to obtain, analyse and report asset information, but a better way to discover and release the locked potential that exists within the industry, and critically, within the people that work in the industry.Over the past 15 years our company has been engaged by hundreds of clients and has assessed and reported on more than 80,000 buildings throughout Australia. These have included some of Australia’s most iconic and extensive asset portfolios, and remote places nation-wide.We currently work as trusted partners to various State Government Departments engaged on long term contracts in the collection, analysis and reporting of important asset data within the education, health, transport, utilities and community sectors. This includes supporting clients make strategic decisions across asset portfolios valued in the tens of billions of dollars.Rather than using outdated legacy practices to manage and analyse data we invest in state-of-the-art technology used in other sectors and quickly adapted this to the needs of our customers.
