My main research focus is on the role of geodiversity in ecosystem service delivery and maintenance. Geodiversity, the diversity of Earth physical systems and features, is a relatively new concept with a rapidly growing field. Ecosystem services are the goods and benefits that people receive from nature. I have developed the photosearcher R package aimed at facilitating data acquisition from Flickr (see https://github.com/nfox29/photosearcher)As well as my academic research I deliver lectures in Introductory Statistics and demonstrate in a range of undergraduate and postgraduate GIS modules. Furthermore, as a researcher I am keen to engage with public outreach, having delivered sessions for school and sixth form aged students on GIS. Full time work placement following ecological consultancy projects from cost quotation to completion, gaining a business acumen on project management. Extended Phase I Habitat Surveys and reports produced suitable for clients to submit as part of the planning application. Reports required preparing and collating the results gained from desk based studies and field observations, as well as accurate reporting in order to be compliant with UK and EU planning policy and legislation.
