About Nathan Frazier

I recently started as a rotational Engineer at Williams International where I am currently creating and modifying manufacturing processes to successfully and repeatedly manufacture electrical components for a fuel control unit.I graduated with my BSME at Michigan Technological University where I had minors in Aerospace Engineering and Astrophysics. I have acquired many skills through my time as a student that will be useful in the workplace. I have first hand experience doing FEA on satellites through the Michigan Tech Aerospace Enterprise. I have designed and manufacturing tools for Williams International. Through numerous school projects, I have learned how to lead a team and also be a team player. Everything I have done the past four years has helped prepare me for pushing the edge of space understanding and exploration. Even my hobby of astrophotography helps push me to learn more about our universe and is a constant reminder of how much we still don't know.

    -Primary responsibility of assisting in FEA of the Auris Satellite. This satellite will spatially map radio frequency emissions from high orbit satellites onto the Earth to analyze the effect on ground receivers.- Utilized Femap with Nastran and ANSYS to ensure the satellite meets system requirements. Various tests and model development were required to display the aptitude of our design. Some of these tests included static structural, modal, random vibration, and thermal deflection.- Conducted hybrid STOP analysis using Femap and Thermal Desktop to find angular displacement of star tracker.- Created simplified CAD models in SOLIDWORKS of the satellites components to help optimize FEA model.
