I am currently the treasurer for the Vietnamese Student Association at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Our goal is to bring awareness to Vietnamese culture and promote diversity to our campus. My responsibilities include managing a $6,000 dollar fund for my organization and applying for various grants to assist in funding various cultural events throughout the year, which often have over 200 participants.

Participated in a group research project through‬‭ URS, which sought to detect bias in spanish-english children‬ books used to teach bilingual students. Wrote reports on work as well as collaborated with fellow researchers.‬ Spearheaded testing of five language detection models‬‭ to analyze our corpus of bilingual books. Worked on‬‭ utilizing named entity recognition to detect discrepancies between language representation in our corpus.‬ Presented findings at the Undergraduate Symposium.

Interned at Machyna, a startup focusing on bring artificial intelligence to shopping carts. I assisted in writing various scripts to assist in the collection and analysis of data. I ‭also assisted in the production and assembly of Machyna‬‭ SmartCarts utilizing various tools‬.
