I have always viewed a career as a journey rather than a destination filled with unexpected challenges and limitless opportunities. Throughout this journey, I have discovered how innovation happens within diverse teams at the intersection of different industries, cultures, and disciplines. This led me to embrace my role as an integrator and explore opportunities for improvements across the sites and multiple business units. Along the way, I have earned a reputation as a motivated self-starter who goes after opportunities and faces challenges head-on. By leveraging my creativity and ingenuity, I have effectively led multidisciplinary teams to generate cost savings, grow margins, and increase utilization. Going forward, I am excited to take on new challenges that are in the frontiers of emerging technologies and innovation. Keys to Success:• Innovation – Identification, development, and adoption of innovative technology into existing processes. • Adaptability – Veteran problem solver that quickly recognizes, diagnoses, and resolves new challenges.• Creativity – Skilled at motivating teams to develop novel solutions to complex problems and to support improvements.• Consistency – Capable at delivering consistent results through databased decision-making, risk management, and engaging stakeholders. • Leadership – Experienced at leading multidisciplinary teams by balancing technical skills with soft skills and communication.• Time-Management – Proficient at balancing multiple job tasks and deadlines to deliver multiple project milestones simultaneously.

Senior Delayed Coking And Isomerization Process EngineerShell Oct 2017 - Aug 2019London, England, GbOperations Support Engineers (OSEs) are responsible to ensuring the safe, reliable, and economic operation of processing units. To accomplish this I focused on nurturing a culture of operational excellence focused on developing operator knowledge, minimizing risks to production, and developing proactive maintenance tasks. As the OSE for the delayed coker and isomerization units, which are major conversion units in the refiner, I focused on creating inherently safer systems to minimize potential risks to personnel and training personnel how respond to abnormal situationsMajor Contributions:• Generated $3.5 million in margin uplift by collaborating with operations and other technical disciplines to optimize reactor temperatures.• Prevented a multimillion-dollar shutdown by leading a multidisciplinary team to adapt existing piping and vessels to reroute process streams to another processing unit.• Initiated and scoped a $65M, multi-year project to replace existing equipment, including the evaluation of alternative designs and examined the impact of future unplanned downtime.• Collaborated with a multinational team in the Shell Process Engineering Business Challenge to develop a digitalization strategy for the Process Engineering community.• Facilitated causal learning investigations into high potential API Tier 1 process safety events to identify root causes, initiating events, and company culture issues. -
Control Systems And Automation EngineerShell Sep 2014 - Oct 2017London, England, GbAs a control systems and automation engineer, I supported three different operating departments by providing technical assurance, improving control and automation systems, and coordinating maintenance activities. Creating and tuning control loops required the development of multivariable models by modeling process data using statistical tools, which reduced variability within the process and damped disturbances. Major Contributions:• Collaborated with Honeywell to create the first implementation of a new turbomachinery control module and presented results at Honeywell’s national user conference.• Applied User Experience Design (UX) principles to construct intuitive Graphical User Interfaces (GUI) that presented process information to operators and maintenance personnel.• Created data visualization computer graphics to present critical process data and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to operations, technical support staff, and site management.• Reduced carbon emissions by 1,600 metric tons per year and generated $300,000 per year in energy and water savings by managing a small project to optimize steam boilers• Utilized data analytics, cloud computing, and machine learning to train analyzers to identify critical stream properties and components from Raman spectroscopy. -
Alkylation And Sulfur Recovery Process EngineerShell Feb 2012 - Sep 2014London, England, GbAn Operations Support Engineer (OSE) works within plant operations to troubleshoot problems, coordinate maintenance activities, and alleviate production bottlenecks. Including the development and execution of projects to improve product quality, increase plant reliability, and expand production capacity. Major Contributions:• Managed facility-wide systems to maximize utilization and minimize production impacts from maintenance outages, including the sulfur, sour water, amine, caustic, and volatiles systems.• Reduced raw material costs by 10% and expanded margins by $2.5 million annually in the alkylation unit by comparing simulation results to actual unit performance.• Designed and oversaw a project to reduce the facility’s water consumption by 170,000 gallons per day and enhance heat recovery by 10% to desalt crude. • Composed and presented monthly flaring environmental compliance reports to the local air district.• Used multiple specialized simulation tools including Promote II, SAM Alkylation Model, and PI Process Book. -
Research AssistantMichigan State University Department Of Chemical Engineering And Material Science May 2009 - Dec 2011East Lansing, Mi, UsAs a research assistant, I was responsible for scaling up a $300,000 project to scale up a reactive distillation column from to increase the purity of synthesized biodiesel additives including the design, fabrication, construction, and commissioning of the new distillation column and associated new equipment. I also coordinated upgrades the university’s unit operations laboratory with new equipment and, replacement of obsolete equipment, and developed new procedures for educational experiments. -
Assistant Systems EngineerMichigan State University Department Of Chemical Engineering And Material Science Jun 2008 - Jun 2009East Lansing, Mi, UsCollaborated with contractors regarding construction site location, utility connections, and project milestones. Updated and maintained maps to protect university owned utilities using AutoCAD and specialized equipment. -
Production Support Engineering InternShell May 2011 - Aug 2011London, England, GbCollaborated with engineers, operators, and third-party contractors to oversee the reclamation of the refinery's DEA system using a new onsite DEA reclamation technology to remove degradation products and improve gas-treating capabilities. As part of the project, I oversaw the operation of the process and strove to maximize production rates, maintain regenerated DEA quality, and minimize operating costs. -
Process Engineering InternAlbemarle Corporation May 2010 - Aug 2010Charlotte, Nc, UsAs a summer intern at Albemarle, I collaborated with a team of operators and engineers to design a dust collection system to reduce maintenance costs and prevent safety incidents. I also developed an estimation of cyclohexane across multiple processing units to reduce discoloration in the finished flame retardant product, increasing the value of the finished product and allowing for new applications in consumer electronics.
